History & Origin

From Fighting Dog to Beloved Companion

The Bull Terrier's origins date back to the early 19th century in England, where breeders crossed Bulldogs with the now-extinct White English Terrier to create the ultimate fighting dog. James Hinks of Birmingham is credited with refining the breed in the 1850s, developing the distinctive all-white variety with its iconic egg-shaped head.

Their muscular build and fearless nature made them formidable competitors. However, as dog fighting became illegal, breeders focused on creating a gentler companion dog. Over time, these spirited fighters transformed into affectionate family pets, earning the nickname "the kid in a dog suit" for their playful, mischievous personalities.

Sizes & Types

Bull Terriers come in two sizes, each with their own charm:

Standard Bull Terrier

Weight: 50-70 pounds. The original size, known for their powerful, muscular build and boundless energy. These larger Bull Terriers are athletic, sturdy, and full of personality!
